ABOUT COLIMA SALTS

Colima Salts - 100% All Natural Coarse Sea Salt- is a kosher artisanal salt that has been harvested by salineros (traditional Mexican salt farmers) for over 500 years. This unique salt is naturally occurring and can only be harvested for a few days each year when the rainwater has dried up in the Laguna de Cuyutlan in Colima, Mexico. Unlike other sea salts, Colima sea salt is naturally purified and does not contain microplastics. This is because rainwater percolates down through an ancient dry salt lagoon that acts as a natural filter. Then, the saline water gets pumped to the surface where it is evaporated in the hot sun leaving pure, natural, unrefined salt that is filtered by nature. The production of Colima sea salt follows traditional, sustainable methods that have been passed down through generations. The salt is harvested by hand, allowing for minimal environmental impact. The artisanal approach ensures that the delicate ecosystem of Laguna de Cuyutlán remains undisturbed, preserving its natural beauty and biodiversity.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER..

I was born in the beautiful State of Colima, Mexico, and am a proud Colimense. However, when I was still a young child, my family and I moved to the United States in search of new opportunities. Growing up in America, I always felt a strong connection to my Mexican heritage and the unique flavors of Colima salt. Eventually, I realized that there was a market for this exquisite salt in the United States, prompting me to start my own business. In Colima, my family is involved in the production of all the products we sell, including the salt and seasoning sauce. We enjoy sharing a taste of our culture with people all over the country. Whenever someone tries Colima salt for the first time and falls in love with its rich flavor and unique texture, I feel a sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from sharing something you truly love with the world.
